How to Send a Photo on WhatsApp

What You Need

WhatsApp installed and open, and a chat with the person you want to send to.

Step 1: Open the Chat

Open WhatsApp and tap the name of the person you want to send a photo to.

Step 2: Tap the Attachment Icon

At the bottom of the screen, next to the text field, look for:

• Android: a paperclip icon (\u{1F4CE}) on the left
• iPhone: a + icon on the bottom left

A menu will open. Choose "Gallery" (existing photo) or "Camera" (take a new one).

Step 3: Choose a Photo

If you chose Gallery: you\'ll see your photos sorted by date, newest first. Tap the one you want.

Step 4: Send

You\'ll see a preview. At the bottom you can type a caption (e.g., "Look what I found!"). When ready, tap the green circle with the arrow.

Sending Multiple Photos at Once

In the gallery, instead of tapping once, long-press the first photo. A checkmark will appear. Now tap (regular tap) additional photos. They\'ll all be sent together.

Phone Asking for "Permission"?

The first time, your phone will ask if WhatsApp can access your photos. Tap "Allow". This is completely safe - without it, WhatsApp simply can\'t reach your photos.
