How to Use Your Banking App Safely

First, a Reassuring Truth

Many people worry that they will accidentally move money or delete something just by looking at their account on the phone. That cannot happen. Simply opening the app and looking at your balance does not change anything. Every transfer or payment requires you to confirm it, usually more than once. Think of it like looking through a window. Looking does not open the door.

Downloading Your Bank\'s App

1. Open the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android).
2. In the search bar, type the name of your bank (for example, "Chase" or "Bank of America").
3. Look for the official app. It will have your bank\'s logo and the bank\'s name listed as the developer.
4. Tap Install (Android) or Get (iPhone).
5. Once installed, the app icon will appear on your home screen.

Setting Up for the First Time

1. Open the app and tap Sign In or Enroll.
2. You will need your account number or debit card number, and possibly your Social Security number for verification.
3. The app will ask you to create a username and password. Write these down in a safe place.
4. You may receive a verification code by text message. Type it in when asked.

Setting Up Fingerprint or Face Login
