Gemini is Google\'s AI tool. It is built into all Google services: Gmail, Search, Maps, Docs, and more. If you have a Gmail account, you already have access to Gemini without signing up for anything new.
Text chat: Ask questions and get detailed answers. Works well in English and many other languages.
Gemini Live (voice conversation): Talk to Gemini by voice in real time, like a phone call. It supports over 90 languages. Available for free to all users.
Image analysis: Photograph a document, medicine label, recipe, or phone screen, and ask "What does this say?" or "What is this medicine?" Gemini can read printed text, handwriting, and interpret diagrams.
Gmail integration:
You can create a personal "AI helper" with preset instructions. For example: "Patient tech tutor" that always answers simply. How: gemini.google.com, then Explore Gems, then New Gem, name it, add instructions, and Save. There are also built-in Gems like Brainstormer, Learning Coach, and Writing Editor.
Nano Banana is Gemini\'s image creation and editing tool. Its icon is a half-peeled banana (that is where the name comes from).
What you can do:
Available inside Gemini itself and also at nanobanana.io.
Gemini Nano is something different: a small AI model that runs directly on your phone, without internet and without sending data to Google\'s servers.
Available on: Pixel 9/10, and select Samsung, Motorola, Xiaomi devices.
What it does:
Nano works automatically in the background. No extra cost.
The free version covers most needs: chat, voice conversations, image analysis, Gems. Google AI Pro ($19.99/month) adds full Gmail/Docs/Drive integration and 2TB storage. But free is enough for most people.
I'm Ofir, The Patient Guide. I'd love to help you personally.
